Enterprise Solutions Hosting Project
Organization:
US Department of Justice, Washington, DC
Project Contact:
Ashok Sharma, USDOJ Systems
Development Staff
Project Description:
The DOJ had a need for
standardized enterprise application hosting services. A custom
“one-off” infrastructure was being developed each time a new
application was deployed, greatly increasing cost and time to
readiness. The DOJ Systems Development Staff turned to Vcentra
engineers to resolve these problems.
The ESHP environment, designed and deployed by Vcentra engineers,
provides a highly available, scalable, and flexible infrastructure
that supports a suite of standardized platforms. The
architecture leverages virtualization technology to consolidate
server resources and decrease cost and time to deployment.
In developing ESHP, Vcentra engineers helped the DOJ to achieve
the following:
-
Deliver hosting as a service
-
Reduced effort and rapid time to deployment
-
Higher availability
-
More manageability
-
Lower total cost of ownership
The ESHP model is a recognized success within the department, and
is now being deployed as the standard for all hosting services at
the DOJ.
